Here in the Napa Valley, after weeks of rain and stormy weather, we’re finally settling into sunshine. It’s the stuff of classic spring: birds twittering, flowers bursting, and everything green, green, green. Everything feels buoyant. The star, pulled at random I should emphasize, is just the card for this week.
The Reading
The star is a powerful symbol of hope, renewal, and inspiration—truly a bright glimmer after these recent challenging weeks. Even if you don’t feel that you’re out of the weeds yet, look up and out. There’s light ahead.
As we emerge from these recent challenges, this card offers guidance:
Rest like you mean it. You can’t bring your best self into your new situation if you haven’t properly recovered. You might be thinking, “Oh, I’m fine! Pfft, that bad time was nothing. I’ve had so much worse.” Or you might think that you’re simply resilient and unbothered by your recent difficulties. Don’t be so sure. Double down on restorative activities. Napping, long walks, and good food are some of my favorites.
Dare to follow your dreams. I’ve only recently understood how critical our dreams are. It’s so easy to think of dreams (our most fervent desires for our lives) as something extra—the little dollop of froth on top of essential, practical, grown up things. But what if our dreams are the most essential of all? What if everything else (the bill paying, the tidying up, the participation in all the have-tos and musts) isn’t all that consequential? (And is this idea terrifying to you or a huge relief?)
Trust your intuition. For those of us still learning (and I am definitely in this group), believing in something that can only be described as a feeling—something that is beyond words—can be hard to do. But the older I get, the more I understand that this deep feeling, this compass, is the truest thing yet. Where will yours guide you?
I believe these three deceptively simple things have the power to make a significant change in our lives. Could this week be the start of something great?
