A note that The Weekly Oracle is off next Sunday but will return April 2 for a deeper look at our card of the year.
The Reading
There is synergy between this week’s card and, unfortunately, the uncertainty we’re currently seeing with the banking industry. The two of pentacles reversed shows imbalance as a result of egotism and recklessness. Now, that may be oversimplifying the banking situation but it does distill some of the topline causes of the Silicon Valley Bank failure.
But let’s take it down to the personal level. You may be experiencing a feeling of overwhelm this week. Everything is slightly—or a lot—off-kilter. Work and/or financial obligations feel tangled, or your primary relationships are frayed. There is stress and agitation afoot.
To recover equilibrium, remind yourself of what is essential to you: in work, in your expenditures and savings, and in your relationships. What truly matters? Focus on those things and let everything else fall away.
One thing I’ve noticed in my own life is that nothing throws me off-balance and off-track faster than a should. Shoulds are what other people have told me to do. Shoulds are other people’s standards and ideas of success and the best, most content ways of living. Shoulds usually arrive from a well-meaning place but that only makes them more insidious. It’s so easy to say, “Aw, but I know she means well!” and then quietly let someone else’s should grow into a must.
So as you sift through what really means the most to you, keep an eye out for others’ standards slipping in and tripping you up. Prioritize the essential things, and don’t try to juggle all the things.
Wishing you a happy, stress-free spring equinox 🌱
Ah yes, should🤨🤨! The kiss of death to dreams and plans and all else that is ‘other!’ It is a powerful feeling when one is able to move past ‘should’ and be free!!!
